How can you stop algae from growing in an aquarium?
First you have to identify the type of algae, not all algae are bad. Then you can perform a treatment. I wrote a hub that covers the topic: http://mercurio.hubpages.com/hub/algae- … -treatmentHope this helps.
You should consider checking your water quality levels (nitrates, pH, etc.). Often times high nitrate levels are to blame, in which case you can try commercial nitrate removers such as X-NO3. I wrote two hubs on this topic: http://hubpages.com/animals/Aquarium-Nitrate-FAQ http://hubpages.com/animals/X-NO3-Aquar … emover-FAQ
