First you have to identify the type of algae, not all algae are bad. Then you can perform a treatment. I wrote a hub that covers the topic:

You should consider checking your water quality levels (nitrates, pH, etc.). Often times high nitrate levels are to blame, in which case you can try commercial nitrate removers such as X-NO3. I wrote two hubs on this topic:
