Found a baby bird think it is a sparrow have been mixing up cat food and dog food water and feeding
with a small syringe (no needle ) baby is small spiky and downy how long to feed on formula will go to store and get kt formula today
This should be a scream. I can imagine your follow-up in, say, 6 weeks:
"Well, that baby bird that I saved is now ready to fledge. Most interesting thing about the creature is that it BARKS and MEOWS. I'm concerned that it does not understand twittering, so may never find a mate. Does Rosetta stone have a DVD for "Sparrow-talk"????"
I have worked in wildlife rehab in the past and fed baby birds. Each type has its own diet and they must be kept warm at a constant temperature. I do not think cat and dog food is a good substitute for the bird's normal diet. Find a wildlife rescue organization or call your local humane society to see if they rescue baby birds or know of any wildlife rehabilitators in your area. Generally speaking, it is best to leave the baby bird alone unless it is in immediate danger and let the parent tend to it - or put it back in the nest if the nest is obvious. It is a myth that touching the baby bird will cause the parents to reject it.
