I know the ones you can get really cheap at the pet stores live just fine in them. I assume most can, they are pretty hardy fish when they have sufficient oxygen (which ponds are better for than bowls) Predators would probably be their biggest problem, and in the winter you would have to take care that the entire pond didn't freeze.
For sure. This is how a lot of invasive species get introduced into an ecosystem.
