Other than food and water what are the basic needs of a happy pet, and do you provide them daily?
That's one of my rescue dogs Oscar cooling off in the muddy yucky water after playing around with his buddies, but he had fun.
The answer is attention and affection. Yes, I allow time for this daily. Our pets wait w/ such faith and loyalty. It's the LEAST we can do! If a pet owner can't readily provide these things, I'd suggest a plush toy instead!
Exercise is important, especially for dogs. They need to be walked each day. Looks like your rescue dog is already getting plenty!
Return the love they give you. Thank you for being a rescue 'mommy'.
They need love, attention, alone time and of course toys. I think if you make a fuss every now and again of them too, it shows you care. Animals are perceptive and they know when you care about them and will return the love.
The best way I know of keeping your pet happy and healthy is by spending a little time each day focused completely on them. With dogs especially it is important to connect by touch. Each day sit down with your dog and run your hands over every part of their bodies. Familiarize yourself with the odd spots, such as: their arm pits, their mouths, between their toes, under their tail, where ever you can reach!
Knowing your pet on this level is important! Keep yourself knowledgeable and in tune with their bodies, they'll thank you for it!
In my experience dogs are better behaved and healthier when their owners take the time to really know them. This method is also a good way to keep an eye on your pooch's health! Fleas, ticks, tumors; all these bad things happen regularly to animals and should be carefully monitored. Good luck!
I used to have my dog on my knee for a while patting him in the mornings , take him for walk & he loved it . Another thing is keeping pets free from fleas and ticks . Can read about the pet protector ln one of my hubs
Depends on your pet! If you have a dog then exercise through walks is important but if you have a bird you want to be providing a wide variety of fruits and veggies. If you try to do the same for each then you will lose your birds and the pup will have diarrhea. Just like most things in the world there is no definite answer, it is dependent on the animal and the situation.
I have two birds and I make sure the get at least an hour of fly time a day, and fresh fruits and vegetables.

What do you think about it? Money can make you happy? Or Happy help you make money?

Could you survive if all you had were the basic three NEEDS in life? Food, water, and shelter.
