How much would you pay for a pet?
A lot of people pay to have a certain breed of cats and dogs (or other animals). How much would you pay?
Let me start out saying that I love animals. In my opinion people should not worry about the breed, bloodline, etc. There are so many animals available at local animal shelters who would love to have a loving home. I have 3 rescue dogs myself; and would have more if there were room. So, people really need to consider these option. This is a case of life or death for the animal. For they are euthanized if not adopted.
$85. That's how much I paid to adopt my dog Jack from Dallas Animal Services in April. That doesn't even begin to cover all the vetting, care, and neutering done while he was in their care. Best $85 dollars I ever spent, for one of the sweetest, silliest dogs I've met.
I would spend upwards of $2000 for a pet. It just depends on what it is. Skunk, serval, Doberman, any of those animals can be multiple thousands and I want all of them!
But I don't treat the pets that I have purchased for cheaper (or got for free) any less. The best dog I ever had was only $85 at the pound. It just depends on what you want and what you fall in love with

My dog Molly was rushed to Emergency Vet this AM. She suffered a stroke, but her prognosis is good, I am going to spend whatever it takes as long as she has a chance at a good quality of life.

Local grocery stores charge $3.99 for a dozen basic cupcakes. How about a gourmet cupcake from a cupcake boutique? Would you pay $3.99 or more for one cupcake?
