Which animal do you like the most?

Which animal either alive or mythological do you feel most drawn to? Is it because it is a beloved pet? Perhaps it  is because  you share characteristic with the animal or do you just like it?

I love dogs, but the animal that I'm drawn to, not because I like it, but because I find it intriguing is the rat. The Norway rat specifically. I hate rodents, but I find the rat intriguing because the province I live in is one of the three places on earth that has no rats. I kid you not. We have a Rat Patrol to keep them out. Seriously. I'm going to write a hub about it!

I think you should write a hub about it! That is really strange, a rat patrol! No wonder you are fascinated by them! I look forward to reading your hub smile

anndango, my son had a pet hooded rat.  I wrote a funny hub about
"Splinter, The Rat".  You might enjoy reading it.  I swear, I never know where my comments go.  Anna, if you get this instead of anndango, let me know.
      Thanks,
      DJ.

DJ, I found your story about Splinter the rat. I enjoyed it. And, the Rat Patrol is for real. If a rat sneaks into our province, it's front page news!

It would have to be dogs. I love dogs. I have 3 rescue dogs right now and just cannot say no if a dog needs a home. I will take it and find it a good home or just keep it myself.

I love all animals but especially those that live in remote places, particularly the snow leopard which lives high up in northern Pakistan I think. It is a beautifully agile cat with a thick fur coat for freezing temperatures. A quietly powerful presence in that steep, rocky environment.
To think that such a creature thrives up there now, waiting for spring, crouched on a ledge, peering down into a distant valley. Wondrous.

Tigers. They are strong, graceful and fearless. I admire them because they are many thing I am not but long to be.

Thats insightful that you can see the traits you desire for yourself   in the tiger. I feel that I am drawn to certain animals as well at certain times due to aspects of myself that I either have or would like to have. Thankyou for  answering.

I love bugs (spiders, insects, worms, mollusks) and anything similar to bugs like crustaceans and some parasites because well they are just the cutest animals ever. I've just preferred them ever since I was little.

Dogs are my favorite. In terms of wild animals, my favorite is probably the grizzly bear.

Thankyou for reading and answering. I do think grizzly bears are quite breathtaking, although a tad frightening!

This is difficult because I love all animals.  I am particularly drawn to bears but I adore birds of all kinds.  I enjoy observing them and hearing their different songs.  I work in an environment where I am surrounded by all types of birds on a daily basis and I learn so much about them.

You are really lucky working in an environment where you are in daily contact with our beautiful world. It must feel good being outside and surrounded by beauty. Thankyou for answering Joanne.

    Great question, Anna.
    I am a dog lover.  My Mother said my first word was 'dog'.  I have always felt an incredible bond to dogs.  I guess you could say that I am a bit intuitive with dogs;
occasionally with horses, as well.  But, these days, I am rarely around horses.

We have rabbits in the springtime and our neighbor leaves out bits of carrots for
them.  They look incredibly sweet and cuddly.

    Thanks,
    DJ.

I think that it is really interesting that you have a intuitive link with animals, I would love to hear more about that, maybe a hub.......... smile
      Thankyou for answering.

I like misunderstood animals... Reptiles, bugs, apex predators (wolves, sharks, etc). There are so many beautiful, amazing, magnificently under-appreciated creatures out there!

I am a big lizard fan Shaddie, I think they are incredible creatures, very beautiful and with such a prehistoric presence. Thankyou for taking the time to read and answer my question smile

I've always had a thing for Wolves. They have a certain majestic feel. I always thought I was a dog person too until I realized I was more of a cat purrson! ;-)  I love all animals in general except for spiders! EWWW!
