Best Art Markers For Special Needs Students

There are a range of great art markers out there for special needs students of the arts who like to explore the creative side of drawing and coloring and other uses for creating artwork with and some of the best are the Crayola range of art markers as most are washable and the broad art markers are the best for drawing and coloring with thicker lines.

Of course you can't just stop at Crayola as this is just the tip of the ice for great art markers for people who have difficulty with fine motor control and the use of art pens and pencils there is help at hand with fat pens and pencils too....

Not that I'm an expert or anything, but my first ever job was as a volunteers  that helped to provide activities for disadvantaged special needs kids and I remember the kids were happy drawing and creating with anything they could get their hands on and more often than not it was with chunky felt tips and the chunky ball point pens too, so long as they had lots of paper to draw and sketch stuff out on.

Because if they had trouble gripping a normal art marker, then a fat chunky marker was easy to grab and they could see a definitive mark when they put it to paper, much unlike the fine liners which used to get thrown on the floor often, because it produced such a thin and feeble line, especially them super fine point fine liners with the almost pin head like tips.

You can find many chunky art markers online and so remember chunky, broad tipped and washable art markers are best...although my first thought would have been Sharpie markers, but then most of them are permanent markers which even kids or adults without special needs need to be careful with, as I've drawn on my face with them without even realizing at times, gone to shops with what looked like a black hair coming out of my cheek and I'm ginger!!!

      Cheers now k9keystrokes!

Since I am an artist I pretty much live in art and drawing everyday is my thing, so I just love to talk about art products and create lots of art.

I love when I am able to find information first hand from the teller. I respect your volunteer work and the information you provide on art markers for special needs students, what a great topic! Thanks for the read.

      Cheers now!

It was the best volunteer work I ever did and it led to a job after it so it was well worth it and I set up a short drawing workshop which I enjoyed at the time too.

Thank you so much for answering this question and thank you too for the links to exactly the products I need. I really like that you based this off your earlier work w/ sped children so you know for sure and are not just talking theory.
