Crochet magic!my first granny square Afghan
My Sweet Adviser!
Even though i hardly do any 'hardwork' - i do not enter the kitchen or do any household chores on Sundays. We usually go out to eat or my husband cooks for me once in a month (he cooks one of the most delicious chicken curries, shrimp fried rice and grill chicken in this world and NO i am not boasting). One of those lazy times, my husband was busy working, he had an important meeting the next day and he was busy doing "those technical things" in his laptop and i was busy gossiping to him getting only hmm.,haan in response suddenly out of nowhere he asked me about crocheting. Confused i asked him why and he reminded me of my disasterous experience with knitting last year! He said i could try doing that again, if knitting was not good for me,then i could try crocheting. So crochet hook was bought followed with yarns and so began my crocheting "adventure".

Research work
I had to do some research work before buying the needle, since i am just a beginner in crochet, so i went through these sites:-
http://crochet.about.com/od/learnbasics/a/beginners.htm
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqca00LdmAc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlTdOMTDkug&feature=fvwrel
I did not wanted to take any risk, decided to buy 9mm hook and yarn for that.
The project
I learned how to make chains, single crochet, double crochet, triple crochet, slip stitch, half double crochet but what to crochet? I have already admitted this that the moment i learn the basics, i jump onto a project of intermediate stage in http://dipsmi.hubpages.com/hub/Spicy-Prawn-Fry-my-first-cooking-venture!
After pondering through various crochet project, i came through a beautiful picture in http://www.holidaycraftsource.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/grannysquareafghan.JPG
The yarns which i am using are- super bulky- 15oz(yellow, black, light blue. dark blue). My project is still not completed as i am not very fast and am doing mistakes continuously but i am happy with my speed and what product is coming out.
I thought that i will type the instructions but somehow i think that instead of reading it,you can do better if you view it, so given below are some links which helped me a lot, hopefully they help you too!
