How to draw an elephant in 30 seconds?

Updated on January 2, 2011

Elephant- the symbol of power

An elephant is often atttributed to power and wisdom. Mythologies even consider elephant so sacred as God. My dad taught me to draw this elephant when I was 5 and since its so cute and so easy, I like to draw it everywhere as my lucky charm!

Step 1

Make an outline slowly and neatly like the above figure.Once you get this right, most of your diagram is over.

Step 2

The beauty about drawing an elephant or any animal for that matter is that, even if your hand shakes a bit and the curves are not smooth, they only make your drawing even more realistic like the animal's hair!

Step 3

The trick just lies in the way you shade. If you just want a quick drawing, you don't even have to bother much about the shades. But see to it that you don't leave too much of white space without shading, especially near the ears

Step 4

Draw two trunks and shade darker to get a two-dimensional effect. If you are too bored about the trunk, just omit it and calling it a she-elephant!

Step 5

Your elephant drawing is finished here. All we are gonno do from now is some more enhancements. Do some detailing for the eyes. Eyes can be plain for a cartoonic elephant.

Step 6

You may even draw a blanket over the elephant. Use your imagination and bring out some intricate designs.

Step 7

Step 8

Draw the clouds, the sun in between them, some birds and a path for the elephant to walk. Draw it quickly in free hand so that you get the right shape of the grass and the path.

Step 9: The majestic elephant
