Want a great way to use some of your household ingredients? How about we make some homemade glitter playdough! This recipe only calls for a few ingredients and is really easy to make. My nieces and nephews love playing with their playdough that we all made together, we made a variety of colors and we use cookie cutters to make cool shapes! If you have your kids stuck inside on a rainy day this is a great project for them to do, you will have to help supervise of course. :) If you are interested read below for the things you need and directions! At the very end of the playdough directions you will find how to make your own homemade glitter!

Things you will need and directions:

Ingredients:

Glitter

Food coloring (Kool aid is also a great subsitute it smells great too!)

2 Teaspoons of cream of tartar

2 Teaspoons of oil

1 cup of water

Containers to store playdough in

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together in a large sauce pan, and cook over low heat until the playdough forms a ball Put into your containers add glitter and food coloring and knead together with your hands. Don't add to much food coloring because there will be some on your hands. Then your done, to use playdough again and again keep the playdough in air tight containers. After that you are all done!

Make sure you don't let the kiddos eat any it won't taste to good. Remember if you don't like the playdough smell use kool-aid instead of food coloring! I hope you enjoyed learning how to make yummy smelling, glittery playdough! Thanks for reading please comment and leave your feedback.:)

Homemade glitter recipe:

Ingredients:

Baking Pan

Tin Foil

1/2 cup of salt

Food coloring

Directions: First preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl mix together your salt and food coloring mix until all of the salt is covered in food coloring. Once you have finished mixing pour your mixture onto a foil lined baking sheet, and bake for 10 minutes. Wait for glitter to cool before you use any! Thanks for reading :)
