Scrapbook Embellishments

Updated on May 7, 2014

Create an Attractive Scrapbook with Creative Use of Embellishments

Like icing on a cake or paint on a car, scrapbook embellishments can add some zing to any album. However, it is important to choose and position embellishments effectively, to create the most attractive scrapbook possible. This article will provide you with some tips to improve your use of embellishments.

One of the most important issues regarding embellishments is where you secure them. While you can purchase them from offline stores, you should definitely consider browsing online stores as well. This can save you a tremendous amount of time and money, and make it easier to browse (and locate) hard-to find embellishments.

As much as possible, avoid overwhelming your scrapbook pages with embellishments. In fact, strategically placing a limited number of embellishments on the scrapbook can be much more effective than using too many of them. The latter approach can make the pages look busy (or even muddled). Remember that your goal should be to do more with less. Embellishments are important, but they should not replace the pictures and journaling.

Buttons & Ribbons

You can use buttons for more than clothing. Select from a cornucopia of colors and sizes when adding buttons as embellishments to your scrapbook. Button up your pages!

Next, ribbons add an elegant touch to the pages of your scrapbook. This is an excellent way to add texture and depth to the pages. Have fun adding variety!

Stickers

Use stickers to spruce up your album pages, by using scrapbook embellishments. You can never seem to grow out of your love for stickers. Stickers are available in a wide variety of sizes, colors, and themes. But avoid overloading!

Finally, you can make your journaling more distinct, by using tags. Simply write in the blank space and then add the tag to your scrapbook. This adds another dimension to your album’s pages.
