   If you are promoting a website I find you are best to allow them to be shared. However, what you want to do is include either your website name or URL in the corner of the photo. That way people are giving you free advertising. Who wouldn't want to have some free advertising?
   
   This can be done with MS paint or Photoshop. I think there may even be software that does it automatically or if you can code you should be able to automate the process.

   as always, it depends -- what is the resolution of the images? what's your goal in publishing them?  it's really hard to prevent your images from being copied once they're on the web
   
   for my photo galleries, i allowpeople to post my images on their websites or blogs, as long as they include a credit.  my smugmug galleries include a preformatted link that makes it a simple

   I don't really have a problem with people sharing my photos, as long as they give me credit as the artist.  What I do have a problem with is the idea of people printing my photos without my knowledge or consent.  My first problem with this is the idea of my photos being framed in some tacky dollar store piece of garbage that does not do my art justice.  Secondly, I work hard to shoot and edit my photos, and getting paid is a nice idea...
