Updated on June 5, 2010

Find out the best Canon digital camera currently available in the market. Canon already established itself as a leader in the digital camera market. I'll show you the best they've come up so far.

These are the things the we consider when rating a digital camera:

  • features

  • performance

  • value for money

  • quality

  • overall satisfaction

The Canon PowerShot SD780 IS is the best camera to buy based on the criteria above.

Features

For a digital camera this size, the PowerShot SD780 IS is amazingly packed with useful features.

  • Very slim and stylish. Choose from 4 colors: Red, Black Silver and Gold.

  • Resolution is very good at 12.1 megapixels.

  • Optical image stabilizer.

  • You can play movies shot with the PowerShot SD780 IS directly to your HDTV.

  • It has a bright LCD display and a viewfinder when you're shooting in brightly lit locations.

  • The only let down is that in only has 3x optical zoom and you can't use the zoom while filming. The other features, specially the viewfinder makes up for that though.

Performance

The PowerShot SD 780 IS is very easy to use and can help you shoot great pictures even if you're not a professional. Here's a comment from someone who used the camera after a wine tasting event:

“Really a great little camera for someone on the go. It shoots great pictures that are very sharp. I went wine tasting and even after a few glasses of wine I could shoot clear shots, the camera is very forgiving.” Stavros, San Francisco

It's also very easy to use. The controls are intuitive.

Battery is fully charged in just 90 minutes.

Value for Money

At a suggested retail price of $279.99, this camera is a real great buy. You can't find another camera this sexy, feature-packed, easy to use and delivers on its promise at a price near $279.99.

Quality

Crisp, clear pictures are easy to capture using the PowerShot SD 780 IS.

Overall Satisfaction

The PowerShot SD 780 IS combines beauty and power in a rare blend. You can take great pictures and still turn heads with this powerful camera that looks like a fashion accessory. It's very small and compact so this may not be for those with big fingers. You can put it in a pocket so be sure to keep it in a pouch to avoid getting scratches.

Overall I give it 5 stars. Canon over-delivered with this product. Good job Canon!

Wow! Great pictures and review! I'm interested in cameras. And probably I'd drop by a cam shop one day to look around. Sometimes pics catch reality more than the eyes can. Well, it's mostly also because good eyes caugth them on camera.

I have always felt that if you went with a Canon or a Nikon you would get a fairly decent camera. Right now I have the original digital Rebel but I will be upgrading to the D50 next month.

Kudlit you can't beat having more pixels ? I'm using an old canon A400 which is becoming dated and would really love to go bigger but my pocket does not allow it. Oh well I can dream can't I.

      Nice Hubs
