I'm looking to write an epic poem (or another series of poems like I have done before)but I was wondering if people had any ideas as to what it should be about.
Any ideas are welcome.

"The plight of those left homeless by the recession?"
Haha, I like it. I have already dipped my hand into a series of poems I called "The Lamentations of the Afro Kid" but I recently killed off the main character due to him being a metaphor of my friend who has just lost his girlfriend and become exceedingly depressed; hence the search for a new epic poem.
I wrote a series of poems inadvertently about knights, kings, and wars. It was fun. I'd suggest something that you can write from many different aspects, multi-faceted. And something concrete, not abstract, its hard to capture and maintain interest in something abstract. Specific suggestions, a forest, a country, a group of peoples (small town, tribe, army regiment), a speech, that kind of thing.
