Definitely Norman Rockwell......IMO, he's as realistic as they come. I have admired his work for many years and have "reproductions" hanging here and there. I especially like to decorate our furnished apartments with his paintings because they are so All American & colorful.......Nice question, Sunshine......WHO is your favorite BTW??
I have to admit, I don't normally put much interest into photo realistic paintings, I'm more of a pencil drawing type girl myself but I have to say, Alyssa Monks paintings are breathtaking. If you haven't seen her artwork, you can check her out at: alyssamonks.com
Norman Rockwell is my absolutel favorite artist in all categories. He had a miraculous talent.
I like Norman Rockwell, but Thomas Kinkade is my favorite. I want to live in each of his paintings.
My personal favorite is Jack Vettriano. He has a way of capturing his subjects at their most vulnerable moments and it really shows on canvas and using brilliant colors.
Check out Chuck Close. He does hyper-realistic and VERY large images of faces. He moved on to doing somewhat pixelated images that allows you eye to optically mix the colors, again, very large. He's still around, so there's a lot of info on him out there.
