   As of my knowledge the current market sales its
   
   Fastest car: SSC Ultimate Aero: 257 mph
   Expensive Car: Bugatti Veyron $1,700,000.

   Got to agree Bugatti makes a mean machine.Saw one once in traffic though and he was going just as fast as i was.Got a chance to see it up close.You can actually see the engine in the back.Clear engine covers.

   Your right about the fastest (top speed) car being the SSC Aero.
   
   However, the most expensive street legal car is not the Veyron. Its the Maxximus G-Force which is also the fastest accelrating car in the world. 0-62mph in 2.14secs.
   
   Oh, and its cost a cool $3mil.
