Difference between BHP and torque?
What is the difference between BHP and torque of a car or truck and how they are linked with engine performance?
Bhp is how fast the car breaks differs with engin types. Torque is how fast the engine can take you up to speed
BHP stands for brake horse power. It has nothing to do with brakes though. It has to do with horsepower at the drive wheels. Horsepower at the drive wheels differs from the horsepower that comes off of the motor. Torque is the rotational force that an engine puts out. Horsepower is the rate at which torque is produced.
The general rule is that torque matters in towing and low rpm power and horsepower is more for top end speed.
