Highest Paying Jobs in America

A website connected with national education services as well as Employment and Training (E & T) and our government sponsored Career One Stops network throughout the US is AceNet or http://www.acenet.org/. This site also lists the highest paying jobs in the country, figured by hourly wage equivalent, but at salaries of over $146,000 per year. All of the following jobs listed are at the top of this collection of well paying positions.

The following jobs would all pay over $70 per hour, if figured on an 40-hour-work-week hourly basis:

  1. Airline Pilots, Copilots, and Flight Engineers. Note: Numbers of openings for these positions decreased significantly over the 18 months ending July 2009.
  2. Physicians - Anesthesiologists. Note: Physician job listings have increased overall from 2008 - 2012. Also note that while earning potential is high for physicians, their Malpractice Insurance premiums have increased significantly in recent years and pose a major expense.
  3. Chief Executives - e.g., CEO, CFO
  4. Physicians - Family & General Practitioners
  5. Physicians - General Internists
  6. Physicians - Obstetricians and Gynecologists
  7. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
