Sometimes, you need to spread news about an event, achievement, announcement etc. on personal level or on the behalf of your institution or organization. Everybody who want to release a news should know some basic things about writing a Press Note. Writing a Press Note is easy. Just follow the steps given here.

Before releasing a news, you must compile a contact directory of newspapers. This directory should contain full contact details of the newspapers, including Postal Addresses, Email Addresses, Phone Numbers and Fax Numbers. Make different lists of Local, State Level and National newspapers.

Writing a Press Note

Before writing a press note, you should note following things:

1. The press note should be released preferably on a Letterhead. It gives authenticity and puts weight to the news.

2. Be specific while writing the news. Don't be verbose. Write only important things in the news.

3. After writing the press release, again think over it and if needed, rewrite it.

4. Check it for spellings and other linguistic mistakes.

5. The press note must be signed by the authentic signatory.

6. Attach a photograph, if you want it to be published.

7. Give your full contact details including your cell phone number with the press note.
