LIC, India Assistant Administrative Officer (Specialist) 2020 Recruitment Details
Job of an Assistant Administrative Officer (AAO) is regarded as a very responsible job in Indian insurance service sector due to involvement of person in preparation and scrutinizing the bills for the payment. An AAO is also involved in various purchases and maintenance of financial, administrative and personal services. Inquiries related to works and purchases are solicited in the name of AAO and work orders are signed and placed under the signatures of an Assistant Administrative Officer. LIC, India has advertised about 168 vacancies of Assistant Administrative Officer (Specialist) and requested candidates to apply On-Line only typing web link http://ibps.sifyitest.com/licaaaojan20/. Registration to apply and payment of fee has begun from February 2, 2020 and deadline to complete the formalities is March 15, 2020. Candidates are advised to download the call lettter during the period 27-3-2020 to 04-04-2020. Preliminary examinations is announced to take place on 4th, April, 2020. Dates of main examination will be announced later on.
Eligibilities
Age limit
Age limit prescribed is between 21-30 years and relaxations in age are available for candidates belonging to different categories other than general.
Qualifications
AAO (Chartered Accountant)
- Bachelor’s Degree,
- Candidates should have passed Final Examination of Institute of Chartered Accountant and completion of Articles as presented by Institute of Chartered Accountant.
- The candidate should be Associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
AAO (Actuarial)
- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
- Candidates should have compulsorily passed 6 or more papers of the examination conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.
- Candidates should provide their membership number.
AAO (Legal)
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or LLM
- Three years Bar experience is essential.
AAO (Rajbhasha)
- Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi translation with English as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s Degree level or
- Post Graduate Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s degree level or
- Post Graduate Master’s Degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at Bachelor’s degree level.
AAO (IT)
- Graduation degree in Engineering (Computer Science, IT or Electronics), or MCA or MSC (Computer Science)
Application Fee
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/ PwBD categories need to pay Rs. 85, transaction charges and GST applicable on the transactions. However, application fee of Rs 700/- , transaction charges and GST have to be paid by candidates belong to other categories. Fee payment has to be done using online payment method.
Salary and associated benefits
Candidates selected as AAO (Specialist) will be placed with a basic pay of Rs. 32795/- per month in the scale of Rs. 32795- 1610(14) –55335– 1745(4) –62315 and other admissible allowances as per rules. Total emoluments depending upon the classification of the city will be approximately Rs 57,000/- per month in ‘A’ Class city at the minimum of the scale inclusive of House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance.
AAOs are entitled to some other benefits including Contributory Pension, Gratuity, LTC, Cash Medical Benefit, Group Mediclaim, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Group Insurance, Vehicle Loan, meal coupon, reimbursement of cost of Brief case/leather bags, mobile handset, supply of dailies and magazines and tea/coffee, mobile expenses, etc..
Assistant Administrative Officers (Chartered Accountant) with two years post qualification work experience are eligible for two advance increments.
Service conditions
After selection, candidates get a regular job and asked to serve anywhere in the country. Candidates have to clear one year probation period that may be extended to two year depending on the performance during the probation. Selecting candidates have to agree to serve the corporation for a minimum duration of 4 years including one or two year's probation period. A bond of Rs five lakh has to be furnished by the selected candidates as an guarantee.
Scheme of Examination
Selection of Assistant Administrative Officers will be done through a three tiered process (Preliminary, Main and Interview) and subsequent Pre-recruitment Medical examination.
An objective type test of 1 hour duration having 100 questions is to be conducted online. English test will be qualifying nature and marks will not be added for ranking the candidates. A total number of candidates of 20 times of vaccancies will be treated qualified for main examination.
An objective type test of 2 hour duration and 300 marks will be conducted online. A descriptive type qualifying test of 25 marks will also be conducted to test English language of candidates and they have to type it using computers. Tests will have questions testing candidates ability for numeric and reasoning, general awareness, knowledge of computers and current affairs and English language will be tested through this online test. Minimum qualifying marks and minimum aggregate marks will be determined by the commission after the examination. Qualifying candidates will be shortlisted for personal interview depending on the number of vacancies. Candidates have to secure minimum passing marks in the interview also.

Tips to crack the AAO exam
Interest to join as AAO in the insurance companies is increasing due to increased awareness among candidates about the pay package, allowances and job profile of AAOs. Becoming fully conversant with the patterns of questions and marking, related topics and time management are some of the concerns that need to be dealt.
