My Experience
Over the years I have volunteered in various ways. Most recently I volunteered with my friends at Santa’s Village in Richardson TX. Our role was to keep the petting zoo under control. There were a surplus of beautiful animals. The petting zoo had goats, bunnies, pigeons, chickens, ponies, a donkey, a pig, and a llama.
We went for three days and it was rewarding. The best part consisted of the smile’s on the children’s faces as they came through. I’ve never experienced anything like it. The parents had their phones out to capture the memory.
The animals belonged to that of a lovely married couple. They would joke around with us. They would tell us stories about the animals and make jokes sometimes. They were wonderful. We found out that they’d been doing this for years. Which solidified how special it was to me that we got to be apart of it.
I would do it again without a second thought. That feeling of helping to make memories is so pure and beautiful.
