Viral Marketing: Mobile

Updated on April 25, 2012

Mobile Marketing Is Another Viral Marketing Method

Mobile phones and other mobile and portable devices are ideal for promotion viral marketing messages, although the very thought of them appearing on your mobile phone seems rather awful, but it is a good and considerably new medium to market, although we do want the marketing of mobile phones to be less intrusive and more useful apps and things like that that can be used on a mobile phone or PDA.

The contents of a mobile phone can be shared and that is a viral method, so a camera phone for instance can create photos that can be uploaded anywhere online and be distributed through the social networks at the click of a button and this is the last resort that some journalists use to capture a snap shot of news that will be featured in a newspaper or on TV.

There are some great ways to make the most of mobile viral marketing and that is pretty much the same as other viral marketing methods:

Exclusive and targeted content- Unique content is always a good starter, so think in terms of what the mobile user may want, ring tones, wallpapers or new selections of email services, just think in terms of a mobile user, try and think of things that would save time and market them to your intended audience, maybe you could write about wireless blue-tooth devices and surround a few marketing campaigns with viral marketing messages of this nature.

Useful wins everytime- A mobile phone is usually carried with people all the time and so in everyday like what would make it easier for them in the things that they would do in their daily routine? well you could provide a simple template for their own shopping lists that would of course have advertising around it that would benefit your income, this could be affiliate or something as simple as adsense.

Mobile marketing can be very personal - Targeting a mobile phone user is just the same as with classic email marketing really, all you have to do is set some clear objectives in your approach and consider the viral implications of your efforts, text messages are a great tool if you can build a list of contacts i the area that you want, it's pretty much identical to capturing email addresses, but with a text number instead.

Mobile marketing and viral marketing go well together and mobile advertising has been around for awhile, but it does need to be worked on to create a solid impact to which it will and your viral marketing methods will yield some brilliant results.

Just think of watching really useful videos on your mobile phone that is another viral method that would be an excellent fit for your online business.

Think of the possibilities.
