Want Returning Visitors? Here Are 5 Things You Can Do To Get Them

Updated on November 9, 2012

The success of many websites depends on returning visitors to account for a great part on their traffic. Returning visitors are more than likely to convert to paying customers for your products or services.

The fact they keep returning means that they trust your website and you have content that interest them. With that said, here are a couple of methods you can implement on your site that will keep visitors coming back and will eventually convert those visitors into gold.

1) Add a Forum

Adding a forum to your website will enable your visitors to voice their opinions on your products, content or services, the ability to interact with their peers will create a sense of community and that alone will keep them coming back to your site to communicate with each other.

2) Start a blog

Start and maintain an online blog about yourself or company, and update it frequently with fresh content. People are very curious and will keep their eyes glued to your site, they will have keen interest into your latest activities, offerings, events, videos etc. A blog can also build your site credibility within your industry or niche, this can make your site a go to place to get certain information. And can even up your rank in the search engines too.

3) Use polls or surveys

Use polls or surveys on your site, they are a form interaction. They provide a way for your visitors to voice their opinions on a particular subject or question. The information in the polls and surveys will have them coming back to check on their outcomes. Just make sure you make the polls and surveys relevant to your niche and the target market of your website.

4) Puzzles, quizzes and games

Depending on your website, you can add, games, quizzes and puzzles to it, they can bring and keep visitors coming back to your site again and again. Many people like to simply escape from their daily grind, they often find themselves on websites playing games, taking quizzes and messing with puzzles, many of them do it from their office jobs.

5) Update your content

Lastly, make sure you update your site content frequently, if you do just that people will always return to see what new interesting content, graphics, videos or pictures you've added to the site. No one wants to keep coming back to a dried static website, with the same information and pictures you added 4 years ago, no, that will not do it, fresh content, new pages, new graphics, new videos etc. will surely keep them coming back.
