Even in today's digital world, "Why SEO" and "What is SEO" are common questions among business owners. They are still wondering why their companies need SEO and what does it mean to have their website optimized for SEO.

Well that ends now. SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization, or in language that everyone understands, it is preparing your website to rank high in the search engines such as Google, Yahoo, etc. and attract the most and the right audience. Another thing many people are concerned about is if optimizing their website can backfire. In order to help you better understand why you need SEO, let's discuss the advantages of having an SEO friendly website.

Traffic

Over the last century, SEO has proven itself to be among the most important factors that decides the success of your website. SMO is good to increase exposure of website and raising brand awareness, but you can not know whether the audience need your services or not. With SEO, however, you can be sure you have the right audience, because they are on your website following a search result they were looking for.

Free

Nothing beats a free tool for your business. Unlike PPC and SMO, Search Engine Optimization is absolutely free. In a world where everything has a price tag, it is really a wonder to have a way to do so much for your business without breaking a bank. Optimizing your website for the search engine is free if you know the right tools, while link building and guest posting can sometimes require some investment. If you want people from HuffingtonPost, TheGuardian or The New York Times to find the way to your website, there is usually a small fee unless you can become an author and publish your own content. If you decide to hire a digital marketing agency to take care of your website's SEO, it will cost you. Compared to PPC and SMO, however, it will be much cheaper.

Covnersion Rate

Conversion rate is higher in Search Engine Optimization than Social Media Optimization and Pay per Click. For instance, one keyword has 10,000 monthly searches and your website is at the 4th position in Google. You are getting approximately 4000 visitors from that keyword. Even if you are getting 2500 queries only, it is much higher than SMO and PPC.

Important Steps for Hiring a Good Company

There are many factors that indicate if you can rely upon a particular search engine marketing company or not. First, there is the ranking of their own keywords, then there are the reviews of their previous customers, and finally their experience on previous projects before.

1) Ranking Positions - It is important to check whether they are ranking from their own keywords or not. You are taking a huge risk if they don't have any ranking keywords. I am not totally against hiring them, but you should know that it is a risky move. Think about it, why they don't have any ranking positions? How are they able to boost your rankings and position your business in top 3 without having the main tools for it?

2) Customer Reviews - Reviews are the mirror reflection of a company and it can clearly tell you how the company has been performing. Are they keeping pace with the latest search engines pace and changes or not? However, many companies are focusing on publishing fake reviews. To check if their reviews are fake or not, simply look if there is a website included from the company they worked for. They must provide information about ranking positions of keywords and other related info. You can also contact reviewers at their websites and ask about their experience with the company yourself. Once you are assure that the company is actually providing good services, you can hire them.

3) Time Frame - You should ask them about the time period to achieve top ranking positions. If they are not able to answer that, they don't know how search engines are working. If they make you a promise to boost your ranking in a month or two, rest assured they are a fake and they won't bring you the online success you're after. Anything above 6 months sounds reasonable, but keep in mind that predicted time frame doesn't automatically mean they are okay to hire.

Patience Will Pay Off

Careful consideration is of the essence. Take your time to go through multiple SEO companies and maybe even get in touch to ask them specific questions. You need to feel confident that the company that will take over your website will boost your rankings and increase your revenue.

How important do you think SEO is for any business?
