All of you folks can work right? I can not work. Disabled from working broke my back 5 places.
I get $166.00 a week to live on. Just to be able to have doctor bills paid. for meds for pain
dray
So What is your problem I will survive.
drayegon, a lot of people on here can work (I can), but I've seen a lot who are either out of work or else can't work because of a medical problem.
Sorry to see that you've had such an awful injury.
I'm not in any way (at all) comparing this to your back injury; but I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you. I've had a really bad leg injury since Christmas, and although it continues to get better, just over the last two days I've been in a real "sick-of-it" mood because having it has run on so long. For a couple of days I got in such a slump I did nothing but foolish stuff online (and on here); but that was a temporary slump. I can work because I write (elsewhere, besides the "hobby writing" I do on here). I can only imagine how difficult it must be to live with an injury that's so much more serious than just a leg thing.
There are many people on here, though, who have really serious conditions that prevent them from being able to work. A lot of others people can, of course, work.
If you feel well enough (and out of pain enough) to write some Hubs, look into the kind of Hubs that are most likely to earn you some money. You may already have seen that there are Hubs that offer people information on earning money online, or writing Hubs or other articles. There are also affiliate programs through which you might be able to get some extra income.
Writing a Hub about the treatment of a broken back, or one about the challenges of living with one (or living on a limited income because of it) could offer readers information based on your first-hand experience. Or, writing about something else you know about (and can research) might be good.
If you were to go to HubPages forum where you could say how much you're able to do, or not do, online; maybe someone would know some sites where you could find some kind of part-time income that would work for you, in your situation. I know there are different kinds of broken backs, with some far more limiting than others may be.
drayegon, you just reminded me that I take an awful lot for granted. I can work and I do - I work very hard, but I sometimes forget that I'm lucky to have the ability to do so.
I'm so sorry that you have had to go through a hard, disabling health crisis. You sound like a strong and determined person, so I am sure you will find the best way forward. As Lisa suggests, you should really consider writing if you feel up to it / your mobility permits. You could make some additional money, build your skills and even start freelancing on a more permanent basis.
Wishing you only good things from here on.

It is all cool. I have a right brain and left brain. They seem to get along. How should I communicate my love of and in my beliefs so as not to shove it down someones throat. When I get to going, I have never had anyone say, "I disagree". But getting there is a bust. Personally I like all...

I am writing this because I have to rely on a wheelchair now to get around, because I am unable to drive anymore. However, the subject I wanted to bring up is about the number of selfish drivers and those who have no regard for people with disabilities, who park their cars in disability parking bays...

Can you think of something that's broke and still works?A broken clock will still work by telling the correct time twice a day.

I'm sorry to bother everyone here, but I need to vent to someone...On April 1, I fell off the bus while exiting and hurt my leg. Turns out, I sprained my ankle, tore a bunch of ligaments and broke my fibula in two places. I was taken to the emergency room and they wrapped it in a bandage, but...

As I'm not a member of the democrat party, I was wondering if it was even worth contacting my House of Representative member to try and convince him to vote no on the Health Care bill. He has already signaled his desire to vote yes and is considered a safe vote by the Dems.
