whats the attitude you get from southerner's when you speak to them with a northern accent?
I live in Kentucky, which was actually neutral in the Civil War, but we're more or less considered southern, or at least hillbilly.
What I have found is that when southerners speak, northerners tend to think that they sound less intelligent or slow. When northerners speak, southerners feel as though the northern person is being curt, abrupt, or is mad.
I know this question wasn't meant for me because i'm a southerner. But I just wanted to say that I always have a pleasant attitude when talking to people from the north. Just because they talk differently than I do doesn't bother me. I was always taught to treat a person how you would like them to treat you. Some of the northerners I do talk to think I sound funny. But thats okay sometimes I think I sound funny too.
