    what can be done about hostile work invironment towards females at a work that is mostly males?

    Myself and one other female at our work are always harrassed and degraded and we feel it is because we are females.

    I wish I had an answer for you. I also work in an environment that is predominantly male. This is an enabling environment for those males that have no respect for women in the work place. It is open season for them to be verbally abuse and to mistreat you even if they don't really know you. They react to you as if you have no value to the organization. They hang on to everything you say and same it into the ground. However if the same idea were to be presented by a male coworker he would be the greatest thing since sliced bread!
    I hope more people answer this and I'll be looking for the answer too.

    Report it to management. If someone doesn't listen, just keep going above someone's head. That's completely allowed in the case of an issue.

    If you are sexually harassed by an employee, the employer is liable. If you can prove harassment, especially sexual (sexual, not based on gender), it can be turned into a court issue.

    If you don't tell anyone, no one can do anything.
