I would like to get some feedback regarding what traffic sources, have you found, work best for you?

I am looking for some additional perspective as to what is working best or not working for others, "currently" in regards to driving traffic.

There are hundreds of ways to drive traffic as you know... BUT the crucial part is to drive traffic that converts; targeted traffic.
Paid advertising is always a sure fire way to find targeted traffic if you know how to set up an Adwords or media buying campaign correctly but the difficulty for most marketers comes in the cost of running such a campaign.. if you're just starting out online you should expect to spend six to twelve months mastering any form of traffic generation and if doing paid advertising this will include losing money while you learn the ropes...
From my own experience, articles have proven by far the best form of highly targeted, converting traffic. The connection you can make with a reader through an article is much greater than any paid advertising will offer you and if you can learn to write articles that are targeted for search, interesting and also have a good enough reason for the reader to click through and go to your website, you should find a good conversion rate also..

Direct response marketing works best for me. At the end of the day it's all about what resonates with your personality, skills, time and budget.
