   Do we have any entrepreneur examples more than 400 years back?
   
   Today we have number of entrepreneur stories and examples like Bill Gates, Sergy Brin, Tata, Adamjee etc. but do we have any such example in history say about 400 year back. or it is just present age phenomenon.

   Sure how about Marco Polo, he was around when the term was coined. Entrepreneur literal meant go between, as in sailing between china and Europe.

   The Medici family made an unbelievable amount of money setting up a back. Early banks were forbidden to charge interest for services or let interest accrue on funds with which they were entrusted because it was usury according to the church. The Medicis called interest they paid out "gifts" and interest you owed "fees".

   1.  King Croesus (sixth Century BC)  can be said to be  an entrepreneur in history  for minting the world’s first coinage. It's not surprising we say “as rich as Croesus”.
   
   2.  Pope Sixtus IV (15th Century) became an entrepreneur in "damnation". He filled the vatican's coffers by delivering mercy against payment. He also licensed brothels so that he could tax them
