    Is " planned obsolescence " a good concept for our world today?

    Planned obsolescence may be good marketing strategy. On the other hand, it is wasteful and bad for the environment.

    Most would say no, but not all.  Companies, especially electronic companies, know that their product will become obsolete in just a couple of years or so.  They make a killing off of holding back on improvements so they will have something better to put out in 6 months to a year.  They really rake it in.
