I got up this morning, thinking that we (the family) could spend some time together as no school or work today....
By the time this mornings shopping had been done, my husband had informed me that he's out to watch football this afternoon. No worries I thought, an afternoon with the children would be nice....Then my son said he was going with my husband to watch football......OOooo a nice afternoon I thought, just me and my daughter watching a good film with some tasty nibbles.....My daughters friend phones and off she goes too.
So it's was just me, on my tod with my BLT baguette for lunch. Not quite what I had in mind. On the positive side I've got some peace and quite to concentrate on a hub....Just wondered if anyone elses day isn't quite what they had in mind.

No.  Today my daughter lost my 8gig memory card in the house somewhere.

No.  I was working for a little bit at my sucky part time job.  I tossed one of those screamers that are on the pocketbooks onto the service desk.  I was at the next register over.  The girl that was manager for the evening said it wasn't okay.  I told her I wouldn't do it again.  She told me to put my closed sign up.  I told her I was going to take care of the next customer.  And that she was being ridiculous about something really small.  She told me to go home.  I am home now and  thinking of quitting.

    It's raining and very misty.

My brain is slowly being fried as I battle with translating some extremely densely written text about pesticides, in Cyrillic script Serbian.

In other words, a fairly typical Saturday for a freelance translator in Wales.

You'd probably be grateful for an afternoon with a BLT baguette!!. At least the sun is out and there is not a cloud in sight.
Happy translating....I wouldn't be able to make sense of a text about pesticides in English.

    As planned? Never.

    As expected? Always.

One of the perks of my being a pessimist is that I'm never surprised.

      I like your approach!!
My husband always says I'm a pessimist too, so I should be able to adopt your attitude quite easily.

Debbie -- Glad you're using your unexpected free time productively. The only thing that's not as planned in my world is that I've spent four days working on hubs instead of writing copy for clients, so I have to pull off  a marathon this weekend.

The hub addiction is growing, so here I am on HP at 8:30 am California time, when I rarely start work before 11. Must be something in the hub water.

yes, I was told many years ago by a wise old woman, if you never expect anyhting, then you'll never be disappointed..
I think that's a sad way to go through life though..hmm

Hope still springs eternal for me, but positive expectations are an entirely different matter. The death of those slowly continues...

I'm afraid my day never goes as planned. I am a terrible procrastinator and rarely achieve in a day what I plan to achieve.

My day today isn't planned. It just develops! I have finished a hub so that is something done!

Finished tough Serbian pesticide stuff, and am now translating easy Polish journal article on asthma drugs.

I tend to work most days, regardless of weekends and state/religious holidays, if I have no other plans. On the other hand, I reckon I take at least double the amount of holiday/days off to do nice things than I would be able to have if I was employed.

I also break up the work each day with intensive gaming sessions smile

Hence I'm working again today and not bothered about it.

We can plan our day but it never goes as we planned or hoped, I know for me I plan what I have to do but it takes a different routine and often times it's okay because I believe everything happens for a reason in life, rather I like it or not...
