What is more relevant, SEO-wise, in a link: the anchor or the title attribute?
The anchor is. You see the anchor is the direct influencer, while title and even ALT tags are just descriptive additions to tell what the link is about, what the page where the link is pointing to is about. Anchor text is the first thing that bots look at and take into their calculations.
But, place title wherever you can and also the ALT tag if you are linking with an image, it adds more relevance to the link and the page to which the link is pointing.
