Any tips on how to be a good Treasurer for a club?
I have been asked to become Treasurer for the Kickboxing Club at my University. I have never been on a Committee, let alone had to deal with any sort of finance but my own, so I have no idea what will be required of me. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can make a good job of this? Much appreciated!
Buy a receipt book and make sure you keep records of everything you spend money on. File all receipts in a folder for cross reference to know where the money went. I think you will be fine, just keep good records.
To be a good treasurer or keeping the book for a club or organization you must keep very good record of all the club funds.
1. Record all cash transactions on a timely basis.
2. Record all spending
3. Keep record of all club finance activities.
4. Put the funds in the bank and make sure the bank statement matches your club finance activities.
As everyones previously mentioned - writing down and keeping pristine records of stuff is absolutely key, but also being able to communicate and be communicated with by members of the club are also very necissary things.

Anybody have any suggestions for a record label? I've got a few in mind but was trying to come up with something different that hopefully isn't in use already. Thanks!
