Do your think your Major/Degree reflect your current profession?
it will depend on what degree you have and what profession you decide to go into
Mine doesn't. I have a degree in Accounting but I have been doing sales my whole career.
I worked in my field for 12 years before starting a family and staying home. Now I work from home, but I apply my education/experience to my daily and professional life. So even though I'm not directly working in my field any more, I've been pro-actively volunteering since I retired and sometimes write about my past profession.
As you said we use our education/experience in our daily life as well in professional life, even though they are not linked directly. I remember a famous Neurosurgeon Dr.Q (Alfredo Quinones-Hinojosa) ,who worked on farms outside of Fresno, California
I studied writing of all types, and radio broadcasting and acting during my quest to earn a B.A. in Communication Arts. Today I'm starting a career as a voice actor, and I write for several sites on the net.
Not at all. You can have a degree in psychology yet be a manager, hr professional, therapist, marketing professional, etc. Yes, what you lean is used in your life, but not as much as you thought it would be usually.

If you were not in your current profession, what would you be doing?I think I would be a baker or a chef. If you got a chance to change your career, would you do it over?

If you could work at any profession, (other than your current one) what would it be and why? Many people dream of having certain job when they are young, but end up doing something completely different. Others follow their dreams but then realize it's not what they thought it would be and change...

I am planning to major in English and come out with a bachelors degree. Do you think it's worth it? I'm very passionate about reading and writing, and I'm an aspiring editor. Do you think the job outlook is alright? Kids never seem to want to read or write anymore.
