Why do we have to work so hard to just pay the bills in todays society?
It seems as time goes by that we are having to work more and more hours just to pay the bills. In years past only one in the household had to work, now in most cases both spouses have to work just to live month to month. Why is this?
I think because politicly the "haves" want a two class system.
You hear all the time about minimum wage, and I always think how can any one live on 7 dollars an hour? They can't. Big Biz is big biz because they want to keep their profits. Many talented people are barely scraping by because 100k per years isn't enough for the big guy at the top to live on. He want's more leaving less for his employees.
It would be nice if big biz self regulated and said "OK, if CEO is making X then all employees make Z or better. I'd like to see them step up to the plate and do the math for rent, electric and water VS their pay scale. MacDonalds - Walmart, I can name more, are among those with the highest profits and lowest wages. I boycott both.
It's a viscus circle and many CEO's just don't get it! Pay me enough to live in modest comfort and my disposible dollars will filter back to YOU! And what do thay call that? A healthy economy.
HELLOOO? BIG BIZ ARE YOU LISTENING?
By the way thanks for asking - I've been wanting that rant for a long time :-)

Why is it so hard to find employees when so many are jobless? Is it my fault or something else? I've been trying to find employees for a part time position. The job averages $15 an hour and 20 hrs a week. Yet very few people respond back to the add. I have had two people quit the position in a month...

I think most of the previous "Living Wage" discussions might have been before hard sun's joining of these forums. So I grabbed one of his comments to drag him into the discussion:I think a wage should be tied to the value of the work performed. But... because of our human nature, I do...

MTG and her MAGA buddies want to hold the country hostage and not pay our bills that were incurred last year. It's like charging on a credit card for a year and then there is a moment of truth were the bills have to be paid. But they think they can hold the country hostage like spoiled...
