History major wants to be a journalist but doesn't know where to begin. What do I do?
I am about to graduate from Rutgers University with a bachelors degree in history. I would love to become a journalist, but I haven't take courses that would prepare me for that career, so I am afraid no media outlet would hire me. What should I do?
What I would recommend is to do some freelance work, start a blog, and see what the type of skills those companies want from a journalist. A lot of it can be self-taught and make sure you have samples of your writing.
Thank you, LadyGlenora. I have been searching through freelance writing positions, and I gave found plenty. I'll start applying for them soon!
