What is your favorite way to relieve stress?

You know, when you've had a long day after work or a difficult day with the kids or just generally had a less than fantastic day, or for any other reason you've found yourself super stressed -- what's your favorite way to relieve stress? Is there something you do that almost always pulls you out of your stressed state or even just temporarily helps you forget your troubles? What is it that puts a smile back on your face after a stressful moment in your life?

From the supplemental today I use mindfulness techniques. It helps me to reach a state of calmness. I think that is key . . . calmness. BTW . . . stress sounds like a good topic to research and write about.

My days are pretty routine today because I don't work. But, when I worked most of my stress was mental or emotional that triggered physical stress like muscle tension. Maybe oddly one way that worked for me to relieve the mental or emotional stress was to remedy with something physical like a walk. Frankly, my typical routine for stressful days was to walk to my mailbox, even though it may be near midnight. It is about a half block there and back. Then, get out of work clothes into a pair shorts and T-shirt. Finally, pop some popcorn and watch TV. I usually would doze off pretty fast.

I use the Sedona Method which teaches you techniques on releasing negative emotions, thoughts, and feelings. It seems to work really good for me to even release stress instantly. It can give me an instant moment of happiness, peace, or calmness too, along with long time positive results. It is kind of like a meditation and deals with more positive thoughts.

I also feel exercise can help relieve stress too. I personally enjoy taking daily walks outside or just walking inside, but even doing some exercises inside seem to help at times too.

My favorite way to relieve stress after a long day is to keep a routine. Everyday after work I do about 15 to 30 minutes of yoga and meditation.
Then, I take a good shower and relax on the couch and interact with my family. After that, I watch a few inspirational videos on Youtube, read a book, or focus on my writing. I find that when I go roller skating, my stress is relieved right away. I am able to let go and enjoy the moment by surrounding myself with other skaters who are having a good time. Thinking about my children always puts a smile on my face after having a stressful moment. I think about a funny incident or something they said to help relieve the stress of it all.

Work out, listen to music...or watch a funny tv show. Seriously, these things have kept me sane most of my life.

And my ability to cope with stress is pretty amazing.

I like taking baths or going for long walks away from the road.

There are these rose infused bath salts that I got from a store called Beall's and not only does it smell lovely, but it works as a great stress reliever after a tough day.

They also have them in lavender as well. c:

I listen to music, play with my pets and do yoga to get rid of stress. It refreshes my mood and I feel happy.
