What can you do that fills the needs and wants of a market.

After all business isn't about you... it's about whomever might be interested in the value you have to offer.

Crack open the telephone book... turn to listings about services you know how to do.  How many of them can be done from home?  How many people are already doing them?

Personally, I think it is about you and to be successful in what you do, you should do something that you are passionate about. Being successful in business requires drive and passion. Think about what turns your buttons, how can you turn that into a business, then research the market.

Read some business books. Seth Godin is an excellent business writer that gets you thinking in all kinds of directions.

When choosing your new home based venture, make sure you don't base your decision solely on the potential income. Instead, choose ideas that you would enjoy doing, or have a strong interest in learning and doing, because you'll be spending a lot of time doing them..

Yes, it wouldn' be hard starting up if you use your hobby. Having personal knowledge and skills about what's you are going to put up is already an edge.

How about if people sent you a photo of their glutius maximus.  Then you could "tell their fortune" from it or create caricatures with it - all for just $99.99! smile
