Why Start A Blog After All?

If you do some simple search in Google you will find that currently there are almost 440 million blogs out there. So, despite having so many blogs online why to invest time and money to build another blog.

Well, one straight answer is that many blogs which are online right now are not active neither the blogger updates them frequently. Therefore, they lose the edge over the updated blogs. Also, many people start a blog just for fun and to see whether there is an audience for that blog or not.

But despite having some disadvantages people start their blogs and some of them become successful and you cannot imagine how by the help of a single blog they make huge income. Those who become successful they devote time to master this skill to the maximum and reap high returns in future. There is no short cut but then if you become successful then the sky is the limit.

What Are The Benefits Of A Niche Blog?

It has been always advised to start a niche blog. Niche blog means you will be writing only for a particular industry. Starting a niche blog has its own advantages. Some of them are:
1. Once your blog become successful you will be considered as an influencer
2. It will be easy for you to sell the related products to your audience
3. You will able to win the trust of the audience
4. It will be easy for your blog to generate traffic from a particular set of audience
5. It will help your blog in terms of better SEO results
6. Easy to monetize for AdSense
7. By writing for a particular niche you will learn new things and you can easily under future trends

Let me share one example of a super-targeted niche blog. Suppose you started a blog related to health. Over time you realized that your audience like more articles related to yoga. Then that is your super-niche blog i.e blog related to yoga exercises. Now, let’s understand how we can start our blog. And there are only three basic stages we have to follow.

Blog - an online identity
Blog - an online identity

Select Your Domain Name

First of all, to start any blog or website we have to register our domain name. A domain name is like our address online. So, this is the first criteria to start a blog.

The good thing about digital marketing is that almost everything we can do online. So, to register our domain name there are many websites which can help you to register your domain name.

While selecting domain name we have to take care of few points. First of all, it’s always good if we can get a .com extension. Second, if possible always select that kind of name which tells about the nature of your business. Although it’s not important but in some cases it can give advantage to the blogger. So, a website domain name like https://hubpages.com/ is a good option.

Below are the lists of sites from where you can register your domain name.

1. Domain.com
2. Bluehost.com (free domain when you buy hosting. Plan valid only for the first year)
3. Hostgater.com (free domain when you buy hosting. Plan valid only for the first year)
4. Namecheap.com
5. Godaddy.com
6. Name.com
7. Bigrock.com

Select A Hosting Space

Actually I have observed that both the online and offline world works the same way but they have different names. Suppose you want to start a restaurant then what all things you need. You will say - a name, space, customers, registration certificate etc.

So, if you want to start a restaurant you need a name which is what we did in the first stage i.e selected a domain name. Now we are looking for some space where we can put furniture and start our restaurant. This is the second stage of starting a blog i.e we need a hosting space where we will put all our contents, articles, videos etc.

Again to get this we have so many hosting providers online. Here, you have to remember that selecting the right hosting provider is extremely important in case of starting a blog. Because if you don’t select the right hosting provider your online audience will face many difficulties to find your bog. And in this way, you can lose your prospective audience and business. So, always go for some reputed hosting providers like Bluehost, Hostinger, WP Engine, Site Ground etc.

To purchase the domain name and hosting space you will need a credit card as most online companies prefer this method of payment. In many countries, there are many local service providers who even prefer the debit card. But remember to go ahead and select among the best service providers.

Install A WordPress

It’s true there was a time when if you want to start any website or blog we need to learn many complicated computer languages like HTML, C, C++, flash etc. But with the advancement of technology, we have developed many open space Content Management System (CMS) or in simple words - website building platforms.

Currently, there are few famous CMS website building platforms i.e Joomla, Drupal and WordPress. And among them, WordPress is the most easy and popular one. There are around 75 million blogs or websites which are using the WordPress CMS platform.

If you want to learn how to install and design a blog by using a WordPress then you can watch some free videos on YouTube channel.

Remember it will take at least seven days of your time to get familiarize with the WordPress but as you go on, you will be learning something new almost every day. More you will use, better you will become in handling it.

Most Important Points For Starting A Niche Blog

If you’re very serious to start a blog or website then you have to understand a few important points.
1. Your blog or website should be such that you can use that to earn some income
2. Your blog should be a combination of your passion, interest and profitability
3. Your niche should be like that you can easily search or think of ideas related to writing articles
4. Write at least twenty-five original articles for your blog because this will help you to pass the AdSense criteria
5. Your blog must have the following things i.e about page, privacy policy, terms and condition, disclaimer, twenty-five original contents of at least 700 words each.

Conclusion

Have a blog is like having a digital identity of yours. There are so many benefits of starting a blog but it is also true it takes lots of hard work and learning to start a successful blog. And if your blog becomes successful then only sky is the limit for you. Go ahead and learn this skill. We don’t know when this skill can help you future.
