A Profile Can Make or Break You

Updated on April 22, 2013

2018 Update

No, the 2018 you see as the Subtitle is not a typo. I chose to use the future date to help showoff all the profiles I filled out over the weekend. The profile information I put together will automatically advertise my websites, Social Networks, blogs, Affiliate Links, Referral Links and much more for many future years. Work hard once and let it ride.

Taking the time to write a catchy profile and filling in the fields of website URLs and Social Network URLs can help you direct traffic to your websites and Social Networks without you having to do additional work. Input the information once and let the profiles do their job.

I recorded a video showing all the information I filled out at the free platforms I use to market online. You will see how and what fields I filled in at three Google + profiles, three Twitter accounts, Facebook personal account, Facebook Page, Facebook Group, Linkedin Professional Profile, Pinterest, two Youtube channel profiles, Hubpages, Infobarrel and a few more. Yes, it sounds like a lot and yes it is a lot but the one day spent filling in as many fields as possible at each profile platform is advertising that will last me for years to come.

Creating profiles that help get sales, help recruit new members or help increase targeted traffic your way is an awesome free Internet Marketing technique.

How many profiles do you have filled out sharing your information?

April 2012 Update

I still write online to earn income and I still believe writing an impressive profile can help grow your Internet business. Get visitors attention to join through your referral/affiliate links does help you earn revenue faster BUT also using your profile to promote you websites, blogs and videos can help increase traffic too.

My Hubpage Profile

Feed Your Visitor With An Attractive Profile

When I first joined Hubpages I was new to article writing and over time I become proficient. I was able to see the potential to earn revenue online.

One of the first steps I was asked to do when I joined Hubpages was to create a profile. My first profile was so bad but I did write a paragraph to introduce myself.

As time went on I started to write article after article and over time I was drawn to write about Free Internet Marketing, Free Advertising Tools and Free to join Pay Per Click Publisher Networks . It just happened. I would think to myself what can I write about. I found it very hard to write about topics I knew nothing about. Many members write about so many different topics and from reading their articles I understood they had a lot of knowledge about the topic they chose to write about. Occasionally I write about a different topic only because I either use a product/service or have gone through an experience and wanted to share.

As time went on I continue to write more and more and I focused hard. I pushed myself because I knew eventually it would all make sense to me. Months went by and people started to sign up/follow me and appreciated the articles I wrote after I researched and used a specific free resource tool and practiced an Internet Marketing technique.

One day a member contacted me. They introduced themselves, made a comment about an article I wrote and then suggested to me to update my profile . He shared his opinion with me about how out-dated my profile was. I then viewed my profile and thought to myself that this guy was 100% right. If you read my profile you wouldn't of been impressed. My profile didn't give visitors the impression of me being an expert about what I speak and do online.

The very next morning I sat down and signed into my account and created a new profile. It took me over an hour to write the best profile I possibly could. Let me tell you folks updating my profile was one of the smartest moves I made . I watched my traffic increase and my profile helped me get many more followers. I also feel updating my profile helps me attract more readers from other websites where I write and promote. I'm now updated and I look like the experienced professional that I now am.

Here are some suggestions to revamp your profile. Make your profile welcoming . The visual is just as important as the content. Easy on the eyes and easy to read. Take the time to add links to the many websites you're a member of especially if the website you belong to offers you a personal Affiliate link. If you have any websites you created, place a link to it on your profile. Doing so does help you draw traffic to your website.

Since I updated my profile I now use my profile Affiliate link to promote all over the web and I'm proud to use it. When I first started I didn't use my profile link to promote my articles but now I use it all the time and feel people are impressed when they come across my profile NOW .

Attention - Something To You Must Know

Make sure when you copy and paste your Hubpages Profile URL, scroll to the bottom of your profile page and click on "Link To This Page". If anyone visits your profile and decided to join Hubpages, you will then receive the credit of the referral and if that referral becomes an active article writer, you will earn extra revenue from the referral writing.

Whether you've been a member for a few months or for a few years, take the time to tweak your profile.

One more reason to create the best profile you possibly can. Getting indexed by search engines is huge and if you can get your profile indexed and someone clicks on your Hubs Affiliate link, you want your profile to say it all. You want the visitors to want more and that means they will read more of your Hubs.
