Create Your Own Hub Challenge
There are so many elements that go into creating a successful hub that it can be a bit overwhelming. Make sure you have great content. Don't forget to use Google Adsense. Backlinking is a must. Everyday I find another great Hub explaining how to increase traffic and I started trying to write Hubs that would become popular, even if it wasn't what I wanted to write about. After two days of writers block I've realized this is the wrong way to go about writing. We have the option to write about anything, and we should utilize that tool first.
Challenges
There are great hub challenges that many are participating in. 30 Hubs in 30 Days, some are even trying 100 Hubs in 30 Days (Good luck with that). If you're unable to participate in these challenges or looking for a little bit of motivation (like me) creating your own Hub challenges can help. You can even create a Hub about what challenge you are going to embark on. If you're fairly new to HubPages (like me) you could try the challenge that I have set for myself.
Write a Hub for each follower you receive on HubPages. It doesn't have to be about a specific topic your new follower would enjoy, but hopefully it will be a great way to balance your followers and the number of Hubs you have. If you find you're getting ten new followers a day, you probably won't be able to keep up --but you're gaining followers and I bet your traffic is increasing. It's a win-win situation!
If the number of Hubs you have isn't something you're concerned about use a different set of metrics. Keywords, page views, backlinks. There are multiple ways you can create your own challenges and even compete with friends and followers.
