How To Increase Traffic To Your Youtube Channel Page

Updated on April 5, 2013

I've been asked how to get more people to visit a persons youtube channel. It can be broken down very simply how to do it. I've done nothing crazy and spent no money advertising to get people to my youtube channel.

There are so many hours worth video on youtube and more being uploaded by the second that it would probably take you a few lifetimes to view them all. How do you compete with all of that video and increase traffic to your youtube channel and where does hubpages come into play?

Make Your Youtube Channel Ready For Increased Traffic

Personalize your channel to your preference. It should look like a representation of you and your videos. Don't leave it with the regular youtube look, jazz it up! Add some color, give it a good name and really make it your own.

After that, the main thing you have to do is have video. You're not getting any traffic to your channel if you have nothing for viewers to view so make some video. Content is King! The most viewed videos seem to be videos of cats, babies, and famous individuals. If that isn't your thing, that's fine too.

Once you've figured out what you want to shoot video of, start to upload. After the first one has been uploaded, upload a couple more videos and then you can start the next step.

The Hubpage Push

Getting your youtube channel ready should drive a bit more traffic already but after

Have you used social networks to increase your views?

that's done the next step is to reach out to people. The best way to do that is to your videos to places like hubpages. When you write an article, add your related youtube video to it. If you have the older hubpages format add your youtube channel link to your profile. For those of you just starting or who have switched to the new hubpages layout, add your youtube link to the "other link" section on your profile.

While you post, remember to connect with your audience. You'll be encouraged to do more and keep going when you engage with the people viewing your videos.

When you're starting you will have some ups and down's, but if you stick in there and put in the small amount of effort, you'll begin to see results. Only once in a while does it happen over night. Everyone that posts to youtube is not guaranteed to end up like Carmen or Justin Bieber but you can still get some attention or start your journey to a similar path to stardom! Happy YouTubing!
