Hubbers helping fellow Hubbers

Updated on September 8, 2011

Hub Hop!

Hub hopping is where random Hubs are presented to you. You can find this convenient little button on the ‘my account’ page that says, “Help us out, Hop some Hubs”. Even if the article that comes up is not something that interests you, you might be surprised to find something cool! Hub Hop in your free time and you are sure to find a Hub that really catches your eye.

Have a seat and stay a while

This may seem rude, but even if you don’t read a Hub, at least stay on the page long enough to leave an impression. This will help generate a little bit of revenue to your fellow Hubber. Of course, nothing beats actually reading the Hub. Hubbers are just like you – people who want to share their writing and things they find interesting. So READ Hubs when you are able to.

Link other Hubs

Find a Hub that really interested you? Then why not link it on facebook for your friends to read? It gives a chance for you to share your favorite things, as well as a chance for your friends to discover hubpages. This will help other Hubbers as well!

How about Yahoo answers? You can link hubs to your Yahoo answers. But make sure it is relevant to the question you are answering.

Looking for something on Amazon or Ebay?

If you are looking for something on Amazon or Ebay, try searching Hubpages first. Chances are a fellow Hubber will have an Amazon Affiliate of the product you are looking for. It may take a little longer to find what you are looking for, but a Hubber will appreciate the extra revenue.

Link to other Hubs

Perhaps there is other Hub articles out there that would be good to piggy back on your Hub. Look at your topic carefully and then do a search on it. You might find an article that relates to your topic, but approaches a different aspect. After people read your Hub, they might be interested in clicking on your fellow Hubber’s link.

R&R – Read and review!

Nothing helps Hubbers out quite like reading their Hub and giving your insight on it! So always comment! Feedback helps Hubbers know readers thoughts on a subject, or whether or not their Hub needs improvement or not.  At the very least, it gives the writer a sense of accomplishment to know that their work was read through. It’s a good feeling!

Chilling in the forums

Every once and a while go check out the forums. Your fellow Hubbers might have questions that YOU know the answer to!  You can also go to talk about your interests. Chatting with fellow Hubbers may give you and others new ideas for Hubs.

I'm still pretty new to HubPages. If any of this information is inaccurate or wrong, please let me know! Any feedback is much loved. Thank you! ]

@ripplemaker: I find myself without a lot of time to hub hop too. So what I like to do is copy and paste the hub into microsoft word and convert it into a pdf to put on my ereader. That way I can read them where ever I am. Later I go back and comment or vote them. ^_^ Wow...thank you for letting me know this Hub was nominated! And thank you for reading!

@Melovy: I have that problem too. But it's good to try and hub hop when you have the chance. lol! Thanks for reading!

@Shawn Scarborough: It should be a scientific fact that hub hopping is the number one cure for boredom...and procrastination. Thank you, and thanks for reading!

@Kris Heeter: I hope you continue to have fun with it! Thanks for reading! ^.^/

@cardelean: So glad you think so! Thank you and thank you for reading! =D

@wanzulfikri: It really does! Thank you for reading!

There are some useful suggestions here.

I used to hub hop a lot when I first joined Hubpages and didn’t know many people, but as I follow many more people now and so have more to read, I hop less. What I often do though, is if I have something I need to find out more about I will search HP first before doing a google search. Your suggestion about buying from Ebay or Amazon through HP is a great one (though as I live in the UK, unfortunately not one I can carry out as Amazon UK is not affiliated.)

I wish I have more time to hub hop but lately it has been crazy with work and rehearsals and all. Thanks for this reminder though. :D

Congratulations on your Hubnuggets nomination. Since I cheerfully make sure each nominee knows their hub has been nominated, perfect time to read more hubs. The link to read and vote: http://redelf.hubpages.com/hubnuggets6/hub/Mother-...

I'll definitely look further into the thing about the ads. Wouldn't want to get anyone in trouble, now would we. Thanks a lot for that tidbit!

Posting on facebook is a good idea! I hadn't thought of that. With your permission, may I add that to this Hub?

Thank you for reading and commenting!

I like to hop hubs just because I enjoy reading articles I otherwise would have missed. One statement you made may not be allowed. There was a forum discussion that you can't click on other's ads at Hubpages. Since Hubpages gets the revenue part of the time, Adsense frowns on it. You'd better check this one out, since it can cause some problems.

This is a great hub and I wish everyone would help each other out. I try to post hubs that I enjoy on Facebook too.

That's pretty much it. Hub hopping just pulls up random articles that you may not have looked at otherwise. Hope you had fun with it~ ^_^

I wasn't sure what hopping hubs was before. Now that I know I will surely be helping out my fellow hubbers.

One of the things I like best about hubpages is the way everyone helps everyone else out so whole heartedly. It makes me feel good to know I am part of such a caring community of people who I hardly know but still take the time and effort to help each other like we were family. Good hub voted up + useful.
