In this step by step tutorial I will explain how to do Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for Hubpages to invite more traffic and increase your income from hubs. I promise you that this is not going to be easy but it's definitely going to be worth it.So read on, follow the instructions below and earn a decent amount writing hubs

What is SEO?

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is a series of process involving steps through which you index your URL to search engines like Google,Yahoo etc so as to get listed on search results and gain more traffic.By doing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) you can gain more credibility and visibility for your webpage on search results.To earn money from hubpages it is essential that you do Search Engine Optimization (SEO)


SEO is therefore an internet marketing strategy that you can employ to reach top levels in search engine results to gather more traffic.It involves tricks like creating back links and promote page to get more rating in search engine indexing.

HOW TO DO SEO FOR HUBPAGES-A STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL

1.Sign up for hubpages

Well you may as well have already done this. Creating a hubpage account with search friendly user name is the first step in this process. Be sure to update your profile and maintain an attractive profile. A good and attractive profile is the foremost process in getting more followers.

2.Start a new hub

Click on the start a hub icon on top left corner of hubpages to create a new hub.You should make sure that you have done enough research on the topic and know clearly what you are going to write about.

3.Writing a good healine

A good heading is the key to earning visitors. If you write useful content without an apt headline all your work will be in vain . So be sure to write a good headline.

Write headline with a lot of search friendly keywords.You can use the help of online services like Google Keywords to determine the best keywords to use

Headline must be of meaningful length. Too short or too long headlines are downers. So be sure to limit the words of headline to suitable word length like 10-12 words.

4.Write qualified rich content

Hubpages suggests that hubs with over 1250 words, 2-3 pics and 2 special capsules earn 300 percent more traffic. So be sure to create hubs of such description. Also what you are writing do matters. If you are writing about topics that no one will ever search for or ever want to read, then you can't earn visitors, So select a suitable topic or niche of your comfort and interest and that people would search for and want to read about. Use Google Trends tool to determine a suitable niche. Also make sure that you don't use saturated niches.

5.Gather followers on hubpages

Become more active in hubpages and participate in Question & Answer section and forum section of hubpages to add followers. Hubpages followers are the foremost visitors to your hubs and more followers means more ratings within hubpages (hubscore). Also a good hubber score is very important.

6.Submit you hubs to Open Directories

Search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. add URL's to their index from open directories like DMOZ, yahoo directory etc. so be sure to submit your URL to such directories.

SUBMITTING URL TO DMOZ

DMOZ is the largest open directory and the king of search,Google adds URL's listed in DMOZ to their directory. So be sure to add your hub on DMOZ

1.Go to DMOZ.org

2.Select a suitable category.

3.Go on selecting categories related to your topic until you reach the lowest layer.

4.Click on suggest URL link

5. Fill the form and add your URL.

7.Submit your URL to Google

To index your URL on Google directory submit your URL to Google using Webmaster tool. This tool helps in better search engine optimization and indexing of all your URL's.

8.Sign Up for Goole Analytics

Google Analytics is a free tool by Google that helps to get information about traffic in detail and help with more optimization of your hubpage. It is better and more descriptive than the native hubpages traffic statistics. With the help of tools like this you can aim more traffic effectively and seamlessly.

9.Create Social Media Campaign

A good Social media campaign is the backbone to build more followers and generate more traffic. Promote your hubs on Facebook, Twitter etc.Be sure to regularly update and promote your content on Social media to gain more visibility and attain wide readability.

10. Update Content Regularly

Regularly update your content every 6 months because your content should be up to date and also search engines like Google like fresh,new and regularly updated contents. Old and useless content must be removed and latest details must be added. This will help more credibility with search engine index and attain high slots in search results.

11. Do regular research

Run a Google search or search the web to regularly get updated about changing search engine policies and new Search Engine Optimization (SEO) utilities and tricks so that you can employ the best tools to promote your hubs and get more readability.

TIPS

Earning a hubber score of 85 and above will make all your hubs do follow links. This means that hubpages directs search engines to index those pages and this gives you more visibility in search results. So be sure to keep up with your hubber score.You can earn a higher hubber score by becoming regularly active in hubpages and by asking and answering question daily. Also publishing high quality rich content hubs will attract more traffic. Be sure to get more followers and follow accomplished hubbers. Followers increase range and visibility of your hubs.

      Wow! I wish I had this when I started writing on HP. This is really good stuff.

      I just went and tried Dmoz but don't have the right software at the moment. I couldn't figure out how and where the tools are for Google but I know from previous checks I've made I do get hits from the likes of Bing etc
