Tips on HubPages # 3: Always review your GoogleAdSense Monthly Performance Report

Updated on September 15, 2014

Google AdSense, the monetization giant

As we write text-rich articles on HubPages, Google AdSense is the leading affiliate that will scrutinize your hubs for the monetization process.

There are factors that you'll consider helpful in weighing your strength and weaknesses when it comes to hubbing. Fellow hubbers and readers may help a thing or two in order for your hub to score higher but the big slice of the 'money cake' will always depend on Google Adsense's performance report monthly.

So, after publishing your first hub, there will always be a reminder to write more hubs then activate your affiliate for monetization.

You'll affix your email address as it is important when the affiliate will give its approval or deny you because of low-scoring and inferior hubs you've published. The Google AdSense staff will require you to rehash, remake, edit, add more text or words your published hubs, then you can re-apply again. It will take two days to two weeks before you receive the second verdict on your hubbing life, whether they'll welcome you as one of their clients or not.

Top 8 Countries who are contributing on my Google AdSense earnings.(Google AdSense Performance Report for the period of Sept. 25 - Oct.1, 2011)

Source

To date (Oct. 3, 2011), there are 99 countries who viewed, read and surfed my articles on HubPages, including the top 8 countries that contributed for my weekly earnings this last quarter of the year.

You'll notice that the equivalent of views, clicks and earnings vary from country to country. Proximity on the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) database of a particular country really helps in attaining a higher yield in monetization. It is also because of the users who are getting access with a particular account on HubPages and aided the hubber in getting the approximate results regarding his/her monthly performance on the site.

To understand more...

  1. Page Views - are the number of total views of the hubber's acticles, including his/her views or visits on a particular hub while commenting, editing and the like.
  2. Clicks - Users are aided by the mouse to click the ads published on a particular page on Hubpages.
  3. Page CTR (Click through Rate) - The page click through rate (CTR) is the number of ad clicks divided by the number of page views. (Page CTR = Clicks / Page views) For example, if you received 2 clicks for 250 page views, your ad unit CTR would be .8%. (2/250=.8%)
  4. CPC (Cost per Click) - or we usually call PPC (Pay per Click) is an internet advertising model where the advertiser will pay the publisher (or internet user or website owner) when the ad is clicked by other users or readers online. The rate will depend on the PPC providers like the Google AdWords, Yahoo!Search Marketing, Microsoft ad Center. It is often abused with fraud by corrupt web developers. Google and other legitimate internet companies have already implemented automated systems in order to secure a particular site.
  5. Page RPM - otherwise known as Page revenue per thousand impressions (RPM) is calculated by dividing your estimated earnings by the number of page views you received, then multiplying by 1000. (Page RPM = (Estimated earnings / Number of page views) * 1000). For example, if you earned an estimated $0.15 from 25 page views, then your page RPM would equal ($0.15 / 25) * 1000, or $6.00.

The only technique or piece of advise from HubPages staff in order for us to earn more from Google AdSense is to write a lengthy, timely, original and text-rich hub , every now and then.

That I intend to do for the rest of my hubbing life.
