Many hubs have been written on the subject. Many hubs give advice on how to make money on this site and what you need to do to make that money. You will most likely read about content creation, keywords, backlinks and general SEO.

Though I know that many hubs have already been written on the subject I believe I have something to offer on said subject. I believe without these key ingredients you will not make it on HP no matter how much you know about SEO and the internet.

I am not saying that SEO and so forth isn’t important, because it is. What I am saying it takes more than internet savvy to make money and here are my key ingredients.

Time

Making money on Hubpages is not something you can do if you don’t make the time to do it. You need to allot time in your day for your Hubpages account. You can do this in your spare time but you need to be consistent with it. You cannot neglect your account and expect it to make you money.

Patience

This is probably the most important ingredient in this recipe. You cannot make money on a revenue sharing site like this overnight. It times time which you need patience for. It’s going to take some time for your articles to get organic traffic. It’s going to take some time to take off and bring in consistence traffic from outside sources and it’s going to take time for the impressions to build.

This, my friend requires you to be patient. But while you are being patient you need to continue to write and publish, and that is where the time you allot will tie in to the patience of waiting.

Knowledge

Writing online

You need to have some idea what you are doing and how to do it. Decide the route you want to take and go for it. If you didn’t know what it took to write online then learn. If you are new to this online game you need to learn the difference between writing for online audiences and print.

You do not need extensive SEO knowledge just the basics such as how to write a title and what keywords are. That’s it. You don’t need to know about keyword percentages and tags. You don’t need to backlink because Google does not like artificial backlinks. People who find your articles interesting will automatically link to them.

Hubpages

Not only should you learn about writing online but also what is required to write on the site. You need to learn about Hubpages, their policies and guidelines; what works and what doesn’t; which articles are best suited for the site and what will last a time.

Revenue

You need to also learn about revenue sharing and what it entails. How much money you get per impression and what all the expressions concerning CPM and CPC means.

In addition you need to learn what Adsense is, their policies and how to maintain your good standing with them. For any content revenue sharing site you will need Adsense as it’s is the primary means of advertising online.

You need to also lean the different ways you can make money on Hubpages such as eBay ads, Amazon products, HP referrals and so forth. It’s not going to be easy making money but at least you will have options.

Execution

It’s all good and well you have patience, time and knowledge but without proper execution you may fail. I realize that when I started out I was not executing properly. Making sure your articles are worthy of an audience is very important. You can have the right title, very good keywords and all the patience in the world, if your article is boring and lacking vital information you are doomed to fail.

It takes more than just words on paper. It takes a bit of creation to put the words in the right context which will flow on the computer screen. You may have all the right information but if they are jumbled and hard to decipher, your viewers will not read through. Organizing your article well will result in proper execution and more impressions.

Perseverance

If you are a good writer you run the risk of your articles being scraped from HP. Hubpages is a high profile site with little plagiarism protection. You the author are solely responsible for the defense of your own work. It will take a bit of perseverance in order to deal with all the thieves which will hassle you.

You have several choices when this happens. You can ignore them; remove your articles or fight back. If you choose to fight back you will have to do so constantly, never ceasing.

Conclusion

The solution is pretty simple yet difficult. It’s not easy and will take some amount of determination. There are times you will feel like you want to give up but you can’t. If you really want to make it you won’t give up. It’s a constant fight; continual disappointment with little reprieve but at the end of the day when that first paycheck is sent through PayPal you will realize it was all worth it.

Keep fighting because you are not alone here.

Peace out!
