Writing Online and Make Money While Doing It ... Really?

Updated on February 22, 2013

Writing Online - To Do or Not To Do?

I have considered this so many times. I personally, have not had the courage to do so - well, not YET. The online world can be so scary for some. There is the chance that so many people will see what you have written, but with this chance comes the chance of a lot of criticism.

We are human, we don't always like to hear things about ourselves that can be discouraging. It can feel like a knife to the stomach! But, with putting your writings online, you are giving the world the chance to take a 'stab' at you a million times over. With writing in general, we all have to accept the criticisms out there like a grain of salt. We have understand that these people are trying to be honest and helpful at the same time.

We can't assume that everything that we write is 'horrible' just because 2 people out of 10 have something negative to say. We have to look at the big picture. 8 people did enjoy it, that really isn't that bad.

My theory is, if you enjoy writing - then write! There is no harm in doing it. If someone chooses not to follow you or not to even read what you have written, will it really make a difference? Sure, you want to find a way to have a million followers and a million comments a day, but that is a little unrealistic. If just one person gets what I am saying and enjoys all I had to say - that is enough for me.

Decision Time

I think I am going to give it a shot!! There is no harm in it. I will write what I feel, when I feel it. It doesn't mean that everyone else out there is going to agree with what I have to say, but I feel, JUST SAY IT!! That is one of the wonderful things about living in North America - Freedom of Speech. We have a right to voice our opinions on every topic out there. Sure, we do have to be a little careful about how we say it, without being offensive - especially when using a platform like Hubpages.

The decision is made, it is worth a try. I have spent too much time in my life always asking myself "What If?" and I am just getting a little too tired asking it again and again! Life is too short! Hubpages has been a wonderful place for me so far and I intend on remaining here and giving it my all. But now, I am going to spend more time writing about the things that matter to me.
