It used to take a while for me to find keywords for articles on my website...but I found a shortcut.
I simply go over to ezinearticles and click into the category that's based around the topic I'm interested in. I'll then run through the articles and see what terms other are linking out with.
You can assume that if someone is out there trying to rank for a keyword with ezineartilces, then they've done some research (this is only true MOST of the time, some people are clueless about what they are doing) and very often if I run their keyword through the keyword tool I find something of value.
You might ask why I'd go after keywords others are already chasing. The simple reason is the most people out there looking to rank have a very elementary grasp of the concepts of SEO, so it's easy to beat them at their own game. The second reason is the many people are doing a "wide-but-shallow" approach which means that they invest very little time in promoting keywords once they find them. If I invest a little MORE time, I can outrank them for their own keywords.
