Still being relatively new, can someone explain what is "Panda" and what is the function of Panda?
What is "Panda" and how, in your opinion, did it affect Hubpage earnings negatively?
It was a Google Algorithm update (the thingy that effects search results) that happened many, many months ago (maybe 1.5+/- years ago?). Its original intent, by what I could tell, was to penalize what they call "content farms." I briefly spoke about such things, on a Hub I wrote a while back, here: http://insanemundane.hubpages.com/hub/s … -blogspots
Thanks for your reply. I have read your hub and find it informative. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome... And good luck with the traffic and your online income; cheers!
Google changes its algorithms over 300 times per year. However big algorithm updates are usually given a name. Panda originally happened in Feb '11 but the algorithm is still run every month or so.
However the new algorithm change is called Penguin, and that's what people are more worried about now.
The original panda saw many users lose between 50-80% of their traffic - however HP brought in stricter rules and subdomains and *most* people regained their traffic and earnings.
Thanks for your comment, that is helpful.

I am not at all sure what to do. I started to write here because the amount of money a committed person could make at that time was okay with me. I only began writing here towards the end of January this year. Since that time Google's Panda has done a lot of damage. Now I want to...

I keep up with Google news fairly regularly to see what's coming down the pipe. I still feel vague self-righteousness over raising the pre-Panda alarm, only to be scoffed at for suggesting that Google might start ranking sites by quality of content across a domain, not just on a page-by-page basis....
