Why don't my Hub summaries appear rather than the first few sentences of my Hub in preview?

I added a summary to a recently posted Hub, but in my newsfeed I still only see the first few sentences of my Hub instead of the unique summary.

Good question, I noticed this as well during Google searches.  Can't wait to see if someone has an answer.

Ask google.  It seems to depend to some degree on the keywords that the searcher uses; if they are not in the summary google uses and excerpt from the hub.  Sometimes it just seems a roll of the die as to what google uses.

There's nothing you can do about it, so just write the best short (150 words or less) summary you can for your keywords and let it go.

Thanks for the replies, Wilderness and Theframjak! Actually, I didn't mean how it's showing up in Google but on my HubPages newsfeed itself. The summary wasn't displaying last night, but it looks like the problem has been corrected as of this afternoon. I guess it just takes a while to update? Good to know!

This happened to me. You publish an article, and afterwards remember to write the summary... I guess the newsfeed on HP just doesn't update instantly. Within a day or so it should switch to showing your summary in the feed and your profile.

when did you write the summary?  it used to be that the summary defaulted to your first sentences, but then HP messed that up and hubs had NO summary.  so if it's an old hub it muight take some time for google to crawl and find your new summary.  new hubs should have the summary used from the start
